He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, where he received his Ph.D. in mathematics (number theory) and his doctorate in education (Ed.D.) specializing in computer applications.

With doctorates in both the natural sciences and the humanities, he has a unique perspective on both the measure and the manifestations of high intelligence. Dr. Kelly has authored more than 50 books, some published in several languages, spanning the fields of mathematics, science, and psychology, and is a sought-after speaker who has presented at more than 100 conferences. A variety of his books are available on this website.

He also served for three years on the NCTM Research Advisory Committee.

In 1989, Brendan incorporated Brendan Kelly Publishing Inc., a company dedicated to the human intellect. To that end, he recruited some brilliant authors including Professors Ravi Vakil (Stanford University) and Don Fraser (University of Toronto) as well as entrepreneur, Dr. Gene Landrum, co-founder of the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant chain, and investment gurus E. Michael Kilbourn and Brad Galbraith. You will find their books on this website.
